• Weekend Turnip!

This past weekend my twin sister and I decided to spend an early birthday celebration in Atlantic City. AC is known for their Boardwalk, hotels/resorts and casinos. We stayed at the Harrah's located by the Marina. I like this hotel not just because of the nightlife scene and casino BUT the really amazing gelato bar!

$6.50 would get a huge bowl with about 6 scoops; not bad of a deal! I got two flavors: tiramisu and dark chocolate. Unbelievably silky smooth. The best  part is that it's 24/7! So if you're craving for some ice cream in the wee hours of the morning, it's there for your convenience.
Before we left AC, we had to make a pit stop at Wet Willies, located on the boardwalk in the Pier mall. I describe this place as a mash up of 7/11 slurpees meets alcohol. There's so many choices to pick from and they let you try out flavors before choosing.
Top: Superman Left: Leonardo Ninja Turtle Right: Berry Banana
Warning: if you are sensitive to the taste of alcohol, you will taste it for sure, but the fact that it's in a slurpee form makes the drink a lot more fun!!

The food trip doesn't end! The next day I spent a relaxing afternoon at Fort Lee Historic Park along the Palisades Interstate with the Bubs. It is a beautiful view of the Hudson River and George Washington Bridge. I suggest a picnic before the autumn crisp air is gone. It was our mistake for not bringing anything to eat, so we stopped by the popular Japanese supermarket and food court, Mitsuwa located in Edgewater. When you're exhausted from shopping the numerous arrays of Japanese food, stop by the food concession stands for some amazing ramen, rice balls, dumplings and many more. There's one particular stand that I absolutely love and truly recommend going to: Omu Subi Gonbei specializing in rice balls/cakes. I kid you not when I say these delightful babies are the size of a baseball. Bubs and I decided on getting the Bomb (mixture of spicy tuna, salmon and seaweed) and the classic Spicy Tuna.

By the end of the week, I've gained about 5 extra pounds. Oh but it was worth the happy belly. It just means I gotta hit the gym again. Thanks for stopping by and let me know your food thoughts!

    BXO,
    Jackie
